03 Jan Double agreement between Italy and the UAE

On 20 October 2015, during some meetings held at Expo Milano, featuring several members of the Italian government and the United Arab Emirates, an important agreement was signed between Sace and the Dubai Aviation City Corporation.

The aim of the agreement is to support the exports and investments of Italian companies interested in the Dubai South project, an area measuring 145 square kilometres that will house the new Al Maktoum International Airport and the Universal Exposition of 2020.

Sace has made available a line of credit for the amount of 1 billion euros for the purchase of goods and services provided by Italian companies.

On that occasion, another agreement was signed between Sace and Abu Dhabi Ports, the company that manages the development of ports and industrial areas in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

This deal is aimed at strengthening trade relations and finding new business opportunities for Italian companies. The agreement will involve the evaluation of projects for Italian companies in Abu Dhabi, including the development of the Khalifa Port and of the free zone of Kizad.

Both these agreements are the outcome of intense trading between Italy and the UAE, which, thanks also to these agreements, will be enhanced in the near future.

Every year, Italian companies export goods and services to the United Arab Emirates worth 5 billion euros, a figure that is bound to increase over the next few years.
